There are many XML validators and parsers available to developers today, and many versions of those applications and toolkits, whilst we cannot claim to be supported by all of these applications the DIGGSML group do try and maintain schemas that are universally compatible with both the leading commercial and open source offerings.

Two important features required for DIGGSML operation are XML Schema Validation (validation using Xerces-J) and OASIS Catalog support (information on implementing the DIGGSML catalog in various editors), be careful to ensure your validator supports both of these technologies for proper operation.

DIGGSML releases are currently tested and validated with the following validator software:

1. Apache Xerces-J 2.9.1
2. Altova XML Spy 2008 Enterprise Edition
3. Oxygen XML 9
